Our Last Night at NRG Park

I got the chance to photograph Our Last Night last year at Vans Warped Tour'17. It was a huge experience to photograph them.

Photographing from the pit for the first time?

On a Sunday morning at NRG parking lot, I didn't have a clue how this was going to turn out. When I first got there we met the instructor Lisa Johnson, who was having the class, "Life In The Pit: The Rock Photographer Experience." She usually photographs bands every time she's on the road with Warped Tour. There were about four other photographers in this class with me. At the beginning she taught us the basics of photographing in the pit. You can only photography the first three songs, that you move around from the pit, not stay in one spot the whole time. She also provide us with wristbands that gave us access into the pit.

Our Last Night

This was the first band I photographed when we were done talking to Lisa. The process for this goes by really fast, so you have to constantly keep moving if you want to keep up with the band. This band was also a challenge to begin with because, there were four members in this band. So you have to be careful with your time, also make sure you photograph each member at least once. In addition, each member was jumping around, increasing crowd hype.

End Results

Overall, when the three songs were finished I felt it was a great experience to photograph, "Our Last Night." When I got there, I didn't have a clue who this band was. I immediately looked them up, listen to some of their songs and became a fan myself.
